As I have contributed to this edition of the Wykeham Journal I have come to see how a school like Winchester can no longer be seen in isolation from wider society. That has meant many far-reaching changes, some of them described in the following pages. The school’s Founder revolutionised schooling to anticipate shifts in the society of his time. Adapting for the future will, I am sure, continue.
